Principal's Message
We remain in LENT, preparing for Easter. During Lent we are called to pray, fast and give. Fr Arokia in our school mass last week provided us with a scaffold on how and what to pray. He provided the students with the word pray. P.R.A.Y represents an acronym for what to do and say in times of prayer.
P- Praise
Use our words to praise God. Praise and worship are opportunities to speak from your heart to God. When you praise and worship, you speak, sing, declare, and proclaim who God is and the good things he has done.
R- Repent.
Use our prayer time to let God know that we are sorry for the times that we do not make good choices, for the times we are unkind, for the times that we do not love others as we should.
A- Ask.
Ask God for the things we need. Use our prayer to ask for our needs and the needs of others. God hears your prayers, but he doesn't always give you exactly what you ask for. Be honest and specific when you ask Him for what you want. Then, be patient, wait and believe that God will act.
Y- Yield.
Do something. Use your prayers and ourselves to show our commitment and love of God by doing and acting as we are asked with love. We are given the ability to choose. If we use this power to make choices based on love and do kind acts or service to others we are becoming the person God wants us to be.
By praying more frequently and knowing how and what to pray for we can use this time of Lent to become closer in our relationship with God. For us as a Catholic school and in our community this is what we aim to achieve in this special period of Lent.
